Jumping into the New Year 2024

 

It’s a brand new year and that means it’s time for the annual resolution setting! This year I intend to make the most of each day and found the sentiment in the ‘Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist’ stamp set so perfect. For my first DT make of 2024 I’ve also used the ‘Flower Power’ set alongside the ‘Breakout’ stencil all from Visible Image.

To begin, I sprayed a piece of white card with ‘Shaded Lilac’, ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ and ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress spray stain. Once dried, I went round the edges of the card with the same colours in distress ink. Up next, I stamped the main image from the ‘Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist’ stamp set onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ ink and heat embossed it with Wow superfine clear gloss superfine embossing powder.

The ‘Breakout’ Stencil was then placed over it before ‘Shaded Lilac’ distress ink was brushed through. This was topped up with some Distress translucent texture paste and a sprinkle of rock candy glitter. The ‘Flower Power’ stamp set was then used to edge the background using ‘Saltwater Taffy’ distress ink. The flowers were coloured in with a white colouring pencil. On a separate piece of card the larger flowers were stamped using Versamark and heat embossed with Wow superfine opaque bright white embossing powder before being fussy cut out and inked with ‘Shaded Lilac’, ‘Saltwater Taffy’ and ‘Kitsch Flamingo’ distress ink.

Finally, the sentiment was stamped in Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss superfine embossing powder. All the elements were added using 3D mounts and the background was mounted onto black card and a white card blank. A few glittery gems were added for more sparkle. A fab motivational card for the start of January!
