Bee Happy Birthday
Autumn is here and I just love seeing
the changing colours of all the leaves from green to golden browns and reds. I
also have a lot of birthdays to prepare for this month. Here is one of my
latest makes using the new ‘Leafy’ stencil alongside the ‘Bee Happy’ stamp and
die set as well as the ‘Birthday Wishes’ stamp set. All available from Visible Image.
For the background I dipped a piece of white card into ‘Carved Pumpkin’ distress oxide that had been sprayed with water. Once dried, I blended ‘Wild Honey’ distress ink through the ‘Leafy’ stencil and around the edge of the card. The leaves were then brushed with a Versamark embossing pen and heat embossed with Wow metallic gold rich superfine embossing powder. Further golden highlights were added using a gold posca pen.
Next up, the main bee from the ‘Bee Happy’ set was stamped onto a piece of white card using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink and heat embossed with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was then coloured with Zig color clean brushes before die cutting out and adding to the background using 3D mounts. The sentiment from the ‘Birthday Wishes’ set was then stamped onto the background using Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ ink and heat embossed the same way.
Finally, the background was put onto black card and a white card blank before some sparkle was added with a Wink of Stella glitter pen and some gems. A delightful birthday card all set for that special occasion this autumn.
