Snarky Cat Tag

I recently signed up to a ’52 week mini art challenge’ run by the ever so talented Sam Squires on Facebook. The theme for August is ‘Circles’. For the circles part of the tag I chose to use a mini layering stencil from Stampers Anonymous. I don’t get to use my Tim Holtz collection very much so I’ve decided to keep using them for each week/month of the challenge.

For this make I started by taking a size 8 tag by Dina Wakley and covering it with some idea-ology tape. I then took the layering stencil and smoothed Distress Grit Paste (opaque) through it and left it to dry. Whilst waiting I stamped out one of the Snarky cats with Versafine Clair ‘Nocturne’ black ink onto white card and heat embossed it with Wow superfine clear gloss embossing powder. This was then coloured in using Distress watercolour pencils and fussy cut out.

The tag was then layered up using an idea-ology quote chip, a rose from the layers collection and some embroidery thread underneath the Snarky cat. The tag was then mounted onto some black card before a few gems and a ribbon was added.

A really simple little tag with a little reminder to ‘be authentic’…
